Ministries in Chile

A Sister writes about the experience of her pastoral ministry:

“Migration is a daily reality, seen in all the main cities of Chile, especially in Antofagasta and Calama.  Antofagasta, is recognized as one of the regions with a better economic index, so it has become a center, attracting many people who are seeking a better life. The challenge for the Pastoral Care of Human Migration of the Diocese of Antofagasta is to deal with the immigrant in a holistic manner.  During meetings over a period of time, the pastoral office tries to help people who come from many different countries, such as Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, etc.”
